Why I feel grateful to the blessed one!

Maybe you are a person who believes in emptiness and believes even Samma Sambuddha also empty and nothing is worthy of worship. Maybe you are a person who doesn’t believe in being grateful or thankful… Maybe you are a person who doesn’t believe in anything… Well! You don’t have to. But I believe, if you are a person with wisdom… you could understand this situation described below. And all the described feelings relate to the scenario.

Imagine you are lost in a dark scary forest...
All alone with misleading voices...
Dark shadows guiding you deeper into a trap...
You are unknowingly walking towards the danger...
You are about to lose your life...
But you don't have a clue about it...
You just walk & walk... And keep walking...
And suddenly...
Just right before you lose your life...
Just right before you fell into the trap...
You get help from an unknown person...
You are finally supported... You are finally saved...
You are finally aware of the risk & dangers you were going through...
And of course, you were about to face...
Everything clear... With the support of the new person you met...

How grateful you will be to this being?
Will you forget him?
Will you treat him as a danger too?
Will you scared for him?
Will you run away from him?
Don't you feel like repaying him from whatever possible manner?
Don't you remember him with a huge thank & gratitude in your heart?
If you come across a look alike to him or if you come across a picture of him, don't you feel the same thankfulness & gratefulness for saving you?
Exactly! Exactly the same feeling... And of course, bit more...
You feel towards the blessed one...
The great Samma Sambuddha, when you realized what the blessed one showed us...
The risk we have never aware of...
The danger we have never seen...
The trap we never felt that we are caught in...
The dark, scary forest which we were all alone...
The misguided voices and dark shadows around us...
Everything revealed... Every puzzle we had solved...
The greatest support ever...
Unseen... Unheard... Unrealized truth of our own self and everything else...
This is what the blessed one offered us...
When you know this... You just know...
And you can't stop feeling grateful...
You simply can't stop yourself for being grateful & thankful towards to the one who simply saved you from the greatest ever risk & danger...
You simply can't erase the support you got...
This is why I bow to the blessed one!
This is the reason behind all those offering towards to the noblest one!
Those who felt saved, they offer... They worship... They are simply being grateful and thankful...
They simply show their gratitude towards the greatest Savior who taught us to become our own saviors just by showing the ultimate truth!

If you want, you can laugh at these actions…
If you like you can make fun of these people…
If you want, you can criticize all these…
But just ONLY till the moment you feel the same…
I guarantee, you will start behaving the same as soon as you have found the exact true path of true enlightenment which only a great Samma Sambuddha show!

LET'S TAKE THE FIRST STEP CORRECTLY AS A REAL BUDDHIST!

There is a very first step for a Buddhist! When a Buddhist child start to speak words for the very first time the parents of his or her teach them how to say Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu… from that very moment onwards, whenever they see Buddha or a Bhikku… or whenever they listen to Dharma pirith or soothra they start saying “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” and they continue this habit till they become grandparents or great grandparents which means till they become old!
That is how a Buddhist starts his or her Buddhist path! Some people say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” for 3 times… some previous generation’s parties say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” 3 time and another long “Sa…a…a..dhu”, for the fourth time. If someone asks why all Buddhist practice this “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” or what is the reason for say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” or how it becomes worship, what will be your answer? If you answered “that is the way Buddhist worship” will it be a wise answer for a wise Buddhist? NO NEVER! Because, a real Buddhist knows the exact reason to everything which him or her practice. So if you think you are a Real Buddhist you should know the reason for “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu”. Then you become a wise person!
When someone follows the greatest Aarya path which we call “Arya Ashtangika Margaya / Ari Ata Maga” the eightfold path or the noble path truly and correctly he or she become a real Buddhist. And the Buddhist word has a deep meaning which is “the wise one or the intelligent one”! That means a wise or intelligent person always know the meaning of his or her words or the reasons for all what he or she practices. And also they are smart to say the reality of using a word to an exact place…

So when someone asks what is the meaning of “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu”? Why people say it for 3 times? Why some say it for the fourth time as a long one? Why it is always end with third or fourth times? Why we can’t say it for the fifth or sixth times? Why we should keep our gathered palms near chest or forehead or above the head when we say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu?” etc… etc… we should know the answers the exact answers for all these questions. We should think “do we able to answer these entire questions now?” I guess your answer will be “No”!

So let’s see the exact answers and the meaning behind this practice!

What is the meaning of “Sadhu”?
The quality of “VIRTUE” means Sadhu! The Virtuous quality of a Real Buddhist is expressing through the word of Sadhu! When we think of being virtuous it has two meanings. One meaning is worldly and most of them know and the other meaning is the Truth and it is according to the Buddhist Path! So when we take the word “VIRTUE” it has a normal meaning which says “moral goodness; particular form of this / Good Quality / efficacy and “VIRTUOUS” means morally good; / chaste. All these meaning comes under these word and when we think of the extramundane meaning of these words they gives the meanings of being honest for the eightfold path, the noble path. Or else we can simply take a meaning as “someone who truly follows the noble eightfold path”!
And the ancient Buddhist knows this real meaning of the word “Sadhu” and they use it to express their virtuous qualities with others.
Now let’s see why we say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” thrice or sometimes a long “Saaaa… dhu” for the fourth time!

There is a Buddhist Gatha (stanza):
“Kaayena Sanwaro Sadhu (The disciplined Body is Sadhu)
Sadhu Wachaya Sanwaro (The disciplined Words are Sadhu)
Manasa Sanwaro Sadhu (The disciplined Mind is Sadhu)
Sadhu Sabbaththa Sanwaro” (All these 3, disciplined Body, Words & Mind is Sadhu)
Here we got a great place to think with our own minds! Then we got first Sadhu for being disciplined by body / Kaayena Sanwaro Sadhu! That means being disciplined in body or disciplined body is a virtue or virtuous quality!
The secondly Sadhu comes for the being disciplined by words / Sadhu Wachaya Sanwaro! That means being disciplined by words is a virtuous quality!
Then the third Sadhu for being disciplined by Mind / Manasa Sanwaro Sadhu! Having a disciplined mind is a virtuous quality!

The fourth long Sadhu is for being well disciplined by all 3 main items call Body, Words & Mind. (Well disciplined these 3 main items call Body, Words & Mind call “triple virtue” (Trividha Sucharithaya) is a necessity to become a Real Buddhist and to achieve Nirvana!)

So this is the reason for teaching “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu” for the children as the first step to become a Buddhist in old days and in present practicing meaninglessly! And these are the things we should learn as our very first step into extramundane life to achieve Nirvana… also for those who wish NOT to achieve Nirvana but to follow the Buddhist path as a worldly person these would help him to become a pleasant and honorable person to live with… A REAL HUMAN!

Now we should learn the deep meanings inside these 4 steps!

Let’s take the first Sadhu which is the Well Disciplined BODY!
How we disciplined by body? When we get rid of the evil actions which we do through our body we will get a disciplined body! Then what are these evil actions which we should get rid of doing those?
“Killing / Homicide, Stealing / Theft and unchastely / Adultery” these are the first 3 evil actions in 10 evil actions to get rid of when being a REAL Buddhist!
When someone doesn’t do these 3 evil actions he or she is disciplined by body. When someone does these 3 evil actions he is NOT disciplined by his or her body! That means only a person who is well disciplined by his or her body has the virtue quality which means he or she is with the first Sadhu quality! We should know that when we disciplined by our body up to certain extent we have the Sadhu quality that much and when we are not disciplined by our body up to an extent we are lack of the Sadhu quality of that extent!
So whenever we see someone who disciplined by body we should remember the first “Sadhu”. If YOU have this first virtue which is disciplined by your body YOU can say first Sadhu to yourself too. Likewise when we think about the other people like Bhikku Bhikkuni whom well disciplined by their body we can offer this first Sadhu to them… and also the places like temples which built for Lord Buddha and the Bodi trees… Pagodas etc… are the places which anyone can disciplined themselves through their body by without doing the 3 evil actions and they are places which reminds us that we should follow the eightfold path honestly and we should be virtuous. So we can offer this first Sadhu to those places with the above pleasant thought! Like this way our ancient Buddhist offered their first Sadhu!

Then the second Sadhu for being disciplined by WORDS!
There are 4 evil actions we do through our words! “False hood / lie, back bite / being a talebearer (tell someone’s bad things or what they said to others when that person is not around…), harsh words/ churlish words and nonsense words / jabbering are the 4th,5th, 6th & 7th evil actions in the 10 evil actions!
So when someone or someplace is well discipline by NOT doing these 4 evil actions through words they or that place is suitable for the second Sadhu. And if you are disciplined by words YOU deserve this second Sadhu too!

When well disciplined by MIND is where the third Sadhu exists!
Craving / Desire, hatred / ill-will and ignorance are the 8th, 9th and the 10th evil actions which cause to block the Nirvana and when someone well disciplined by his or her Mind by NOT doing these or if someplace helps to get rid of these 3 evil actions is deserve the third Sadhu! And also if YOU are well disciplined by your MIND you deserve the third Sadhu too!
So whenever we see someone who well disciplined by these triple virtue or when you feel YOU are disciplined by these triple virtue or when you feel some place which helps you & others to become a disciplined person through Body, Words & Mind… the long Sadhu take places as the fourth one! It is long because ancient Buddhist accepted those who well disciplined through all these triple virtue are greatest and they deserve a long Sadhu for being very virtuous!

So now we know saying Sadhu by being so religious or to show higher respect without knowing the true meaning is not completing our very first step of being a Real Buddhist. So now we can say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu and if like the long fourth Sadhu with a meaning and if we are NOT disciplined or NOT deserve the Sadhu we can stop saying Sadhu too. But I respectfully request you that you never should stop say Sadhu and if you think you are not deserve to offer with Sadhu please try your best to discipline yourself and enter to the Buddhist path by taking the very first step! This will not only guide you to the Nirvana you will guide to be a TRUE HUMAN BEING among all others!

So as the words have meaning all the actions also have a meaning!
When we say Sadhu there is a way we respect. We never say Sadhu by sitting above well disciplined persons… we always make sure to sit somewhere below to the higher person and sit aside of him or her. There is a meaning to say Sadhu for someone well disciplined like that.
If anyone deserve all the 3 Sadhu and the long fourth Sadhu that simply gives the meaning that he or she is well disciplined by triple virtue and he is a real Buddhist who has enter to the eightfold noble path. Normally people who those well disciplined themselves show their differences between others and their through their costume and it’s a must… like all Bhikku Bhikkuni wears the Robs and others should wear the costume with a white cloth across his chest into the direction of North that means should cover his or her right hand side and we normally wear such a cloth when we observe precepts. Those who well disciplined should show others truly that they are followers of the eightfold noble path and then others can easily recognize that those people are difference and should not act with them with normal disrespected too friendly manner. Because if a normal person who not deserve the Sadhu and continue his or her life with 10 evil actions or one or more evil actions abuse the person by intentionally or unintentionally that person will obtain a great sin which will block his Nirvana for many births and sometimes it may cause to guide him or her to the Hell for long time. So those who truly follow the eightfold path should not allow and they will never allow others to have such a worst action. So in ancient times the real Buddhist shows their difference between others and themselves through the costume and others recognize it and offer the true respect through Sadhu. And also by saying Sadhu others express the feeling of that they are really happy to see such a disciplined person with him or her.

So why we straighten our tightly closed hand (clench fist) and keep two palms together on our chest to worship and say Sadhu?
Think when a police captured a thief and how the thief react… he clench his fist (a hand with the fingers curled into the palm) and keep on the chest and never keep the eye contact with the policeman and request or beg the police to release him and the thief mostly act in the police in the same way. Why the thief didn’t straighten his ten fingers and keep on the chest and ask police straight and direct release me unless he has NOT done a stealing? Normally the nature gives a quality to act like a guilty person when someone DOES an evil work.

But think how we respect and worship a disciplined person? We uncurled our ten fingers and we straighten our body well and we worship straight & direct. To such worship we call in Pali “Angjalikaraneeya”. Let’s see the meaning of it… “Anga (Sinhalese word)” is described as “Where the Horn touches” when a horn touches anything or anyplace that one will get hurt. Because a horn of a bull or goat or such an animal uses to hurt others. A horn always there for them to hurt other even we call it that is there for their protection… horn is built for hurt others. And the human also brings ten horns (Anga) to hurt others when we come to this world…
01st horn - Killing / Homicide
02nd horn - Stealing / Theft
03rd horn - Unchastely / Adultery
04th horn - False hood / lie
05th horn - Back bite / being a talebearer (tell someone’s bad things or what they said to others when that person is not around…)
06th horn - Harsh words/ Churlish words
07th horn - Nonsense words / jabbering
08th horn - Craving / Desire
09th horn - Hatred / ill-will
10th horn - Ignorance

So these 10 evil actions counted as the 10 horns of humans to hurt others. All human born with tightly curled fingers into the palm (clenched fists). Also human clenched fists when they do many of the above actions. As examples; when someone scold or fight or argue with someone they have clenched fist. And when they like something most they clench it tightly. This means they clench their ten horns to show others that they follow the 10 evil actions. Likewise “Anguli (the Sinhalese words Anga / horns + Guli /clenched = Anguli) and Anguli means fingers. There may be a chance to describe “finger” word too like this… when people in anger they fist their hands and the word finger has come out as a combination of 2 words fist + anger… because in every language all words has the same meaning… whatever we described their meanings according to the language when we think deeply all of them got a one common meaning which has come to that word with the shape & activity of the thing or the animal or the person or the place… that is the nature and the reality but we can’t get that exact meanings when we stuck only to the languages.

Any way we should know these 10 evil actions which we now know as our 10 horns are not giving any good for us or the world. And we know those are the things we should NOT do… and we decide whether we clenched those or dissolve them. “Jali (the word gives the meaning of dissolve) so Anga + Jali = Angjali and “Karaneeya” means “Do or Does” and now we know the exact meaning of “Angjalikaraneeya” which means dissolving all the clenched 10 evil actions in our life. So we straiten our fingers one by one and show the disciplined one that we too ready to follow the greatest path by dissolving our 10 evil actions.

When we keep straighten ten fingers on our chest as we do when worship that gives the meaning we dissolve the 10 evil actions and accept the greatest eightfold path by heart. And we show that we accepted the Sadu qualities by heart and now I am also ready to deserve the Sadhu qualities.
In our ancient time people practice this nicely and correctly and they kept straighten 10 fingers on the chest and say loudly “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu”. This was their custom and the greatest behavior. So they keep the same symbol to greet the other. Those who well behave as the above way they say to the guest who comes to their house they ask through this symbol that “I am disciplined like this and are you too disciplined well?” So the guest also follow the same custom and he accept it and say that I am too like that by doing the same thing back.

And the word “Aubowan” doesn’t gives a simple mean of which you should live long. It has another deep meaning according to the custom that real Buddhists follows. “Appamado amata padang – Pamado machchuno padang…. Is one of the stanzas in Dhamma pada and gives the meaning; “those who do these 10 evil actions are late… too late… they are like dead bodies… the one who get rid of these 10 evil actions and be virtuous means he or she has enter to the immortality. The one who is immoral have a long life. So you too may have such a long life! And the one who is not delay will achieve the Nirvana soon as possible. He or she completes the exalted eight fold path soon. So ancient Buddhist said “Aubowan” to their guests to wish that “May you too get that quickness for Nirvana and the complete eight fold path sonly through this custom!”

We worship the same way by keeping hands on the forehead. Forehead shows the conscientiousness. When we worship in such a way we self promise that we shouldn’t do 10 evil actions which block the path of Nirvana even by mistakenly. I promise myself that I am being conscientiousness all the time to NOT do that mistake and correct myself throughout this eight fold path!
When we worship the same way by keeping our hands on the head means we practice this method as the very first method during my life time and even I am ready to risk my life to practice this method.

So now we know the very first step of a Real Buddhist with its very true deep meaning. And if you feel uncomfortable with the meanings given to the word I request you to think well… think with a clear mind revise what you have read right now and think again why it is IMPOSSIBLE to be like that? Or why it is NOT IMPOSSIBLE to be like that? Think how suit this way of saying Sadhu as the very first step of a Buddhist. Think how practical is this very first step to follow and promise… thinking how nicely our ancient Buddhists practice this with a great meaning and think what we exactly doing today without a meaningful meaning. Think whether it is better to practice Sadhu like this way OR just say Sadhu whenever you want without any meaning… think think think… because thinking well will increase your wisdom and will guide to the correct path soon!

Now I would like to say “Auybowan” to you as now you know the real meaning of the word! And now I say “Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu Sa…a…a….dhu”to this web site which I created as this is purely express the truth to help you to achieve Nirvana!
“Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu Sa…a…a….dhu”

The Samma Sambuddha's Life in Brief!

Buddha had lived previously on this Earth itself as well as on other planets in the universe. The Buddha spent nearly Asankya Kalpa with just a thought of becoming the Buddha one day till he get the blessing to become a Buddha for sure from the Buddha call Deepankara Buddha. At that time his was a ascetic name Sumedha. The time he felt about being a Buddha and thus for many lives, the Buddha had developed altruism and it was after having gathered such vast strength of character that the Buddha was born to spread his infinite kindness to all beings.

In the birth of the Buddha in the life which is most relevant to our present discussion, there did not occur anything extraordinary. Over 2500 years ago, the Buddha was born as a human being, out of human parents, and in perfectly natural conditions.

But for the environment into which he was born, the Buddha’s position at birth was that of any other human being. The Buddha was born into a Royal family, King Suddhodana, ruler over Kapilavattu being his father and Queen Maha Maya Devi being his mother. It was only the Royal position he assumed on his birth that raised him above the average. The baby thus born had to face the realities of life from the very outset. Queen Maha Maya Devi, the mother of the Buddha, died hardly seven days after the Buddha was born, and thus the advantages of the tender care and caressing of a real mother were lost. King Suddhodana, however, provided adequately for the upbringing of the child who was his only son and heir to his throne. Almost immediately the Queen Maha Maya Devi died, the King appointed a nursing mother, Prajapathi Gotami who was the sister of Queen Maha Maya Devi, to look after the motherless child. And Prajapathi Gotami honored the trust places on her by the King extremely well, and the child grew up in health and vigor to his father’s expectations.

As it is now in many normal homes, it was more so in that Royal Family that certain celebration should follow the birth of a child. According to the custom that prevailed at the time, therefore, there was the “Naming” ceremony for which the King summoned the chief sages of his kingdom to discuss and decide on a name to be given to the child. The sages of this time were people who had cultivated occult arts, and the foretelling of future events was one of the subjects in which they specialized. The sages, after examining the baby, decided to name the child Siddhartha, and meanwhile, the sages also advised the King about the child’s future. These sages expressed their unanimous opinion that the child would mature to be a great man, but they could not agree as to the particular direction in which the child would be great, whether he would be a great King or whether he would be a great reformer. They also did not exclude the possibility of the child developing interests in a religious field.

King Suddhodana, who apparently was not satisfied with the many religions that existed at that time (there were nearly 62 different religions competing with one another then), decided no to allow his son to enter any of the religions. Accordingly, the King advised his Ministers to exclude from the child (now Prince Siddhartha) any experience which would kindle in him an interest in the numerous religious beliefs that prevailed. In carrying out this order, the King’s Ministers kept the Royal Prince cut off completely from the dismal side of life, and from the sages and ascetics particularly. The Ministers trained the Prince only to take over the responsibilities of the kingdom after his father’s death, and, therefore, the Princes were given the necessary education both in literature and the arts of warfare. He was really talented and learns everything so quickly.

King Suddhodana decided to provide with the most luxurious life one can think of in order to keep away the Prince with sorrows of life. He even built 3 palaces for 3 seasons call Ramya, Suramya & Subha. Perhaps owing to the King Suddhodana’s excess of precaution to prevent this son from entering a religious life, marriage was arranged for the Prince Siddhartha. The prices, therefore, married the beautiful Princess Yasodara, who was his wife for many births. The king’s Ministers could not keep the Princes Siddhartha cut off from the reality of life any longer. The Prince began to experience real life step by step, and in his Charioteer, Channa, he found and intelligent person with whom he could discuss these problems.

When the Prince left the Palace in his Royal Chariot for the Royal Gardens to recreate himself, he had interesting discussion with Channa, his Charioteer. Prince left the Palace One day when his wife Yasodhara was about to give birth to their child. On their way, they met a very weak looking man walking, the Prince asked about that man and Channa told him “He is a sick man”. Then Prince asked Channa “why people fallen sick in this world?” . And he said no body can escape from that, it’s the reality of life. Prince got upset and turned back to palace. The next day they went the same journey and met an old man, and he asked “why people getting old?”. And Channa said “ No body can escape from being old”. Like previous day Princess headed back to palace thinking and discussing about that. Next day again while they are traveling they met a funeral procession, and he asked “ will all people die ?” Channa replied “ No matter who you are no one can escape from death” . And the princess shocked and headed back. And the Prince thought about the deceptiveness of the life. On the fourth day the Prince saw an ascetic and the discussion was centered on the ascetic life that day. On their way Prince was thinking about the ascetic more & more and once they go back to the palace they got to know that Princess Yasodhara had given birth to their son. Then Princes muttered a phrase ; “Rahula was born, another bond begins”; because of that their son was named as Rahula.

Thus the Prince began to grow curious about the various aspects of life, and, ultimately, at the age of 29 years, the Princes arrived at the firm and irrevocable decision to ascertain for himself the truth about life. Everyone at that time believed that the ultimate truth about life could be ascertained only by practicing asceticism, and asceticism involves renouncing everything including one’s position and family. At the time when the ambition to look for the ultimate truth about life entered his mind, the Prince had no new ideas to refute the current theories about asceticism. Hence, the Prince decided to experiment with asceticism in the first instance, in spite of the sacrifices it involved. The Prince, therefore, renounces his claim to the throne, and he renounces his wife and family too. The Prince thus entered the forest to practice asceticism.

In the forest, the Princes met 2 ascetics, Aalarakalama & Uddaka – Ramaputta, and with their guidance, he practiced asceticism. Soon he gained all the knowledge form them and found it was not what he has looked. The Prince decided to seek his goal by himself and left these 2 ascetics. Later, he met five other ascetics, whose names were; Kondanna, Bhaddiya, Vappa, Mahnama, Assaji. With these five ascetics, the Prince practiced extremely difficult forms of asceticism which involved self- torture of the worst kind. The Prince practiced extreme asceticism for six years, not achieved anything new other than very weak body. Then he realized enlightenment has nothing to do with body but a mind game. Then he began to feed his body in order to gain his lost body energy. By seen this, the five ascetics thought Prince has given-up and left him.

The Prince realized, choosing a one extreme means refusing the other one. If someone mention the “NON - EXISTING” word means the “EXISTING” word also hidden there. He thought, to wisdom, there cannot be an opposite side. There can be only one Reality in this world and the path of this wisdom is unique. So the Prince left all the ascetics and began on his own to follow the method of Contemplation and meditation, keeping to the middle path; Medium to attain Nirvana. He saw the uselessness of life. And the attempt was completely successful.

The Prince began to purify his mind by Contemplation and Meditation and as he was progressing, the defilement which remained hidden in his mind sprang up to obstruct him. Suppressing and overcoming all these obstacles, the Princes continued, and, ultimately, under a Bodhi tree, the Prince destroyed the last fetters of defilement and attained full enlightenment with 5 Unique Buddha Gana (Buddha’s Wisdom). Thenceforward, he was Buddha.

After attaining enlightenment, the Buddha remained for 7 week in the same vicinity of solitude mostly enjoying the bliss of enlightenment and also taking stock of this position. He also planned out his future campaign whilst remaining there. After 7 weeks, the Buddha stepped out and began his career of preaching and, on the Esala (July) Full moon day which 5 ascetics under whose guidance and company he had lived for the major part of the six years he spent in the forest. These 5 ascetics were convinced of the truths the Buddha unfolded and they became the first followers of the Buddha, and were of great assistance to him in his campaign later on.

The news of the Buddha’s achievement spread far and wide and for 45 years after his achieving enlightenment, the Buddha continued his campaign of preaching, sending missions to various parts of the country, working for the welfare of all, and, generally, assisting everyone from his father, step mother, wife, and child, down to every stranger he met. He too had enemies like his brother in law Devadaththa. But no one can kill a Buddha. Because to achieve the Buddha hood one must groove him for billions of births. No body in this world can terminate that. But Devadaththa tried several ways and once he tried to push a rock from a hill onto the Buddha while he is walking. But Devadaththa failed to kill him and Buddha got a little scratch on his body.

Buddha saw the people surrounded by a illusion whom doesn’t know they live such a deceptive life and thinking they are enjoying. It’s like crab in a water pot enjoying itself until that water gets boiled. He spread his understanding of the world to everyone, very kindly. He allow the women also to become his followers and many women including his wife Yasodara, nursing mother Prajapathi Gotami lived those time period achieve the enlightenment and become Arahat. The Buddha also preached against the caste and class systems which elevated some persons above others merely because to their birth or their economic affluence.

The Buddha taught the equality of each human being. He also taught that only virtue could raise one man above any other. Thus having revolutionized the conceptions about life which prevailed at that time, and having gathered a vast number of followers to his Doctrine, and having raised a large number of persons to the level of Arahats, the Buddha passed away from this world into the state of Nibbana / Nirvana at the age of 80 years.
